Wildflower

The Wildflower long course was beautiful.  Being old and a wimp, I didn't camp Friday night, but stayed in a hotel in King City.  Because I'm ancient, I was in the last men's wave, which hit the water at about 9:05.  When I got to the park, it was hopping.  I got down to the transition area just before the race began.  You couldn't ask for more perfect weather.  It was just warm enough to be comfortable, but cool enough so that I didn't ever get too hot.  No clouds and no haze.  Thousands of people were wandering about.  It was just the atmosphere needed to get my adrenaline pumping.  Everyone was on edge, but they were all friendly.  It's  fascinating that there can be such a comraderie amongst people who will be trying to surpass each other in a few mintues.
